Job summary

Irwin & Colton is seeking a Senior Fire, Health, and Safety Consultant to join a growing team. This client-facing role leads a portfolio of risk, fire, health and safety projects across commercial and residential buildings, including high-risk environments.

The position offers a home-based contract with a salary up to £65,000 and all expenses covered, with focus on delivering robust management systems and audits.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH General Certificate in Health & Safety is required.
• Membership in recognised fire safety bodies is preferred.
• Experience delivering fire risk assessments in mid/high-rise buildings.
• Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation and BS 9999/9997.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality technical consultancy across fire, health and safety projects.
• Design and implement robust H&S management systems and inspection programmes.
• Manage client relationships and respond to requests for work and proposals.
• Produce reports and recommendations aligned with legislation and best practice.
• Mentor junior consultants to ensure safe, compliant delivery on site.

Education

NEBOSH General Certificate in Health & Safety

Fire safety memberships e.g. AIFireE/MIFireE/GIFireE/IFSM/IFPO

FRA experience in mid-high rise buildings (7m+)

BS 9999 / 9997 knowledge

Full UK driving licence
