Job summary

ALECTO RECRUITMENT LTD is seeking a Senior Fire Engineer in Manchester to lead active fire protection projects on a hybrid basis. You will manage design, inspections, and reporting across a range of water-mist and fire mains installations.

You should bring proven consultancy experience with active protection systems, a relevant engineering degree or professional membership, and proficiency in AutoCAD/Revit/Bluebeam. Strong communication and independent workload management are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with active fire protection systems in consultancy/construction/property environments.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, Fire Engineering or equivalent, or recognised qualifications/IFE-CIBSE membership.
• Proficiency with design tools like Bluebeam Revu, AutoCAD or Revit.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage projects across active fire protection work.
• Perform conceptual design, performance specs, and options studies.

Salary: GBP65000 - GBP70000 per annum + + Extensive Benefits Package

They’re now looking for a Senior Fire Engineer who specialises in active fire protection systems.

The Role

You’ll lead and manage projects across the full range of active fire protection work, including:

• Conceptual design, performance specifications and options studies
• Site inspections and technical reporting
• Water mist (BS 8458, BS 8489, BS EN 14972)
• Wet and dry fire mains (BS 9990)

Beyond technical delivery, you’ll coordinate with other engineering disciplines, support and guide colleagues, contribute to training, and take part in business development and bids.

What They’re Looking For

• Proven experience with active fire protection systems in a consultancy, construction or property environment
• A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Fire Engineering or a related discipline, or industry-recognised qualifications or IFE/CIBSE membership
• Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu, AutoCAD or Revit
• Strong communication skills and sound commercial awareness
• The ability to manage a varied workload independently
