Job summary

HDI Global is expanding its London Fine Art & Specie proposition as part of its Lloyd's syndicate strategy. We seek an ambitious underwriter to join a globally connected team, strengthening broker relationships and shaping a unified Fine Art & Specie portfolio across platforms.

You will underwrite and review risks, maintain stakeholder relationships, and support market-leading claims service. The role demands technical underwriting knowledge and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Detailed understanding of the Fine Art & Specie market in London and internationally.
• Demonstrable track record of developing and managing broker relationships and delivering profitable results.
• Understand clients’ collections, businesses and their needs and challenges around insurance.
• Up-to-date knowledge of existing insurance laws and regulatory frameworks and awareness of upcoming changes.
• Complete technical understanding of policy construction across all 4 risk codes.
• Strong written communication skills for drafting clauses and conditions.
• Numerate with good analytics and pricing tool understanding.
• Knowledge of regulatory data capture for regulatory and analytical purposes.
• Proficiency with MS Office and Power BI for reporting and analysis.
• Ability to build strong relationships with external clients and internal stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent negotiation and networking skills.
• Ability to set clear goals and justify actions.
• Curiosity, proactivity and adaptability to change.

Responsibilities

• Significantly contribute to business planning and strategy.
• Underwrite, review and service Specie and Fine Art risks in line with authority and guidelines.
• Develop and strengthen broker relationships to grow profitable business.
• Monitor performance and suggest underwriting guideline or rate changes.
• Mentor junior team members and promote collaboration and knowledge sharing.
• Review processes and recommend efficiency improvements.
• Monitor aggregations and maintain reports.
• Coordinate with claims to deliver market-leading service.
• Represent HDI at market events and broker meetings.
• Participate in special projects and cross-border collaboration.
