Job summary

G MASS Consulting's client, a well established Lloyd's market insurer, seeks a qualified accountant to lead technical reporting for the Lloyd's business. You will own the quarterly close, loading data into the close model and collaborating with the Actuarial team to sign off results.

There is a genuine improvement remit, shaping how the finance function operates and delivering robust close cycles while driving efficiency and system enhancements across reporting processes.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with Lloyd's market experience and strong IFRS knowledge.
• Experience delivering quarterly close and technical reporting.
• Ability to translate insurance numbers into clear commentary for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Run the quarterly technical close across IFRS 17, IFRS 4 and UK GAAP.
• Produce IFRS 17 and IFRS 4 technical results for the Lloyd's entity.
• Prepare closing packs for Group Reporting with accurate, timely figures.
• Interrogate movements in IFRS 17 balances and explain drivers of performance.
• Partner with Actuarial function during close, challenge outputs and resolve queries.
• Drive process, control and system enhancements across financial reporting.
• Support external audit cycles and draft technical accounting papers.
• Contribute to wider team priorities as the business requires.

Sitting at the centre of the quarterly close, you will own the end to end cycle, from loading data into the close model and running the accounting processes, to working through results with the Actuarial team and seeing submissions through to sign off.

Requirements

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• 3 to 5+ years' experience in insurance, ideally within the Lloyd's or London Market
• Practical, hands on IFRS 17 experience, supported by a working knowledge of IFRS 4 and UK GAAP
• A track record of delivering quarterly close and technical result reporting
• Comfortable engaging with actuaries and translating complex insurance numbers into clear commentary
• Exposure to external audit and technical accounting documentation
• Interest in improving processes and experience supporting finance change or system projects
• Well organised, detail focused and able to perform under tight reporting deadlines
