Description

This role is for a talented professional passionate about success, with expertise in detailed financial analysis and reporting. The Senior FP&A Analyst will be central to the 118118 Money business, helping to critique and formulate commercial plans and define financial strategies.

The role involves developing insightful analysis to challenge performance, identify improvement areas, and support senior management decision-making. The analyst will partner with various teams, especially Finance and Commercial, supporting key performance management processes and acting as a financial gatekeeper for initiatives.

The responsibilities include producing profitability reporting and modelling, with a deep understanding of pricing within Financial Services and key principles underpinning ROA reporting. The candidate should be comfortable analyzing interest income, Cost of Funds, Impairment, and variable costs, and challenging methodologies and assumptions.

The role also oversees the production of committee reporting packs. This is an excellent opportunity to join during a period of significant profitability growth.

Key Responsibilities and Objectives

1. Development of the FP&A function – assist in shaping the team to support growth, identifying process and system improvements.
2. Challenge commercial assumptions – critique business plans and assumptions, acting as a financial gatekeeper for profitability, including customer management activities and new initiatives.
3. Profitability Analysis – own and enhance analysis to inform decision-making, understanding key profitability drivers and costs.
4. Budgeting, Planning & Modelling – support annual cycles, improve models, and ensure alignment with strategy. Proficiency in MS Excel is essential.
5. Monthly Variance Analysis – oversee timely variance analysis, develop MI for real-time monitoring.
6. Business Partnering – build relationships across teams to support financial and analytical needs.
7. Macro Monitoring – stay aware of macroeconomic impacts, conduct stress tests, and develop mitigation plans.
8. Ad-hoc Analysis – perform additional analyses as required to improve performance.

Who you are

The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background and significant FP&A experience in Financial Services, with exposure to pricing. They should understand business drivers and metrics impacting financial results, be comfortable working with large datasets, and presenting insights to senior stakeholders.

What you'll need

Experience:

• Degree or equivalent from a top university
• ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualified with significant PQE
• Advanced IT skills, especially MS Excel & PowerPoint
• Extensive FP&A or Commercial experience in Financial Services
• Proven ability to build comprehensive financial models
