Job Description:
Responsibilities
- Contribute to and implement the underwriting strategy within the Underwriting Team. Monitor and execute underwriting activities in collaboration with the Underwriting Management Team.
- Develop and execute strategies to meet business plans concerning premiums, losses, and expenses for assigned product lines and territories.
- Manage renewals, renewal changes, and new business proactively to meet premium targets.
- Apply portfolio management strategies to improve loss ratios and achieve financial goals.
- Manage direct commissions and expenses to align with plans.
- Underwrite and price risks following guidelines, policies, and procedures, utilizing underwriting tools and documenting decisions thoroughly.
- Collaborate with support teams to meet service standards.
- Manage distribution partners proactively, acting as a liaison for assigned products.
- Develop and implement customer visitation strategies to enhance submission flow and customer retention.
- Lead and develop staff through performance objectives, feedback, and training, fostering a diverse and inclusive culture.
- Serve as a product line expert and organize technical training for junior staff.
Qualifications
- Extensive underwriting experience and knowledge in the relevant class of business.
- Strong commercial, financial, and regulatory knowledge in insurance.
