Job summary

BTG Recruitment in Lincoln is seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to lead day-to-day financial control for a fast-growing SME with c.£30m turnover. You will report to the CFO and manage a small finance team while driving stock control and improvements across systems.

The role offers scope to structure processes, improve controls and influence reporting across manufacturing, distribution, retail and property, with significant impact on the business’s growth.

Qualifications

• Strong FC-level experience in SME or fast-moving business.
• Experience in stockholding environments (manufacturing, distribution, retail).
• Proven cash flow and working capital management skills.
• Experience leading and developing a finance team.
• Ability to improve financial controls and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of two Management Accountants and two Accounts Assistants.
• Produce and review management accounts across multiple group companies.
• Cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
• Balance sheet control and reconciliations.
• Stock and inventory accounting.
• Strengthening financial controls and processes.
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and business planning.
• Improving reporting and management information.
• Working closely with operational teams and senior stakeholders.
• Managing financial information across several systems.
• Supporting the CFO with wider finance projects and growth.
