Job summary

Monese is seeking an exceptional Financial Controller to lead its financial accounting, control and reporting function. Reporting to the CFO, you will own month‑end close, statutory reporting and audit processes with a strong emphasis on accuracy, timeliness and governance.

You will lead the financial control team, drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with accounting standards in a fast‑growing fintech. This is a senior leadership role requiring technical rigour and delivery focus.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) with significant post‑qualification experience.
• Experience leading month‑end close, statutory reporting and audits.
• Strong IFRS/UK GAAP knowledge and financial reporting expertise.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual close and reporting processes with strict timetables.
• Maintain and strengthen financial controls and governance for a regulated fintech.
• Lead statutory accounts, external audits and regulatory reporting with high readiness.
• Drive transformation, automation and process improvements across finance operations.
• Lead, develop and hold the financial control team to high standards.
