Job summary

EA First Ltd is partnering with a major international logistics business to recruit an experienced Financial Controller on a 15-month fixed-term contract. This role reports into senior finance leadership and will own financial control and reporting across UK operations.

Based in Southampton with travel to an Essex location about twice per month, the role offers a market-competitive compensation package and an opportunity to lead a finance team within a complex commercial environment.

Qualifications

• Professional finance/accounting qualification required.
• Degree preferred for the role.
• Strong knowledge of UK and international accounting standards.
• Significant management experience in finance roles.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage priorities.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing financial control across revenue, operational costs, capital expenditure and cash flow.
• Ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting while maintaining strong accounting controls and processes.
• Supporting statutory accounts, VAT, CIS and other regulatory reporting requirements.
• Managing internal and external audit activity and ensuring compliance with UK and international accounting standards.
• Driving improvements across finance systems, cash forecasting and wider financial processes.
• Partnering with senior stakeholders to support business performance, planning and strategic objectives.
• Managing key banking relationships and supporting funding requirements.
• Leading, coaching and developing members of the Finance team while promoting a collaborative, high-performance culture.
