We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Financial Analyst at the Perth CBD Office on an 18-month maximum term basis.

Deliver on this promise first-hand by joining our team as a Senior Financial Analyst.

This position is responsible for partnering with the business, proactively identifying and supporting cost- optimisation and productivity opportunities, ensuring financial performance is aligned to Western Power’s strategy and is accurately reported, easily understood and drives appropriate commercial outcomes.

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will:

  • Proactively partner with stakeholders across the business to enable effective decision making related to key strategic, financial, and commercial opportunities and drive bottom line performance improvement.
  • Demonstrate advanced influence and negotiation skills, proven ability to engage stakeholders to enable improved outcomes for the business.
  • Effectively communicate clear and concise financial performance insights to the Senior Leadership team on a broad array of topics whilst adhering to deadlines.
  • Demonstrate continuous improvement to improve accuracy and automation of financial reporting as well as identify initiatives to improve cost efficiency and productivity across the business.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills, including influencing team members and stakeholders, with the ability to work collaboratively across the function whilst supporting the team in achieving its goals.
  • Identify systemic financial issues and manage initiatives to redesign and continually improve key standards, systems and processes to ensure a best for business outcome in alignment with Western Power’s Governance policies.
  • Champion the delivery of a comprehensive suite of financial improvements (process and reporting) across all functions (e.g. budgeting, forecasting, financial performance reporting and ad hoc financial analysis).


About you

We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business, or a relevant discipline.
  • In exceptional circumstances only, comprehensive, broad practical and demonstrated experience and knowledge in required discipline without a recognised degree may be considered
  • Broad and extensive experience of at least 10+ years performing complex accounting, management reporting or financial analysis functions within a commercial environment.
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining strong working relationships at all levels of an organisation.
  • Excellent communication, writing and interpersonal skills, complimented by highly developed influencing skills.
  • Very strong business acumen, expert level analytical skills and significant experience working with best practice financial reporting systems and standards.
  • Proven business / process improvement skills. Ability to align detail orientated tasks with the "big picture" and communicates accordingly.
  • Requires excellent theoretical and subject matter expert practical knowledge of different and complex financial and analytical techniques, and the capability to plan own work and respect deadlines.
