Job description

About the Role

The Verve Group are seeking an experienced financial administrator to enhance and support our existing outsourced administration and paraplanning offering. We have a number of financial planner and adviser clients who use us for their administration and paraplanning needs and due to high demand we are expanding our team.

We’re looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic candidate to join our dynamic team and to help with our mission of changing the face of finance. Once thought of as pale and stale and full of grey suits, The Verve Group is dynamic, fresh, diverse and on a mission to break the stereotypes.

This role encompasses a wide range of financial administrative duties, along with some research and writing tasks. You will form part of the foundation of a larger team, being a mix of paraplanners, technical experts and administrators so the role asks for someone who is a team player, contributor and someone who embodies our “got your back” ethic.

Ideally, we are looking for someone who has some experience in an IFA practice so you can bring all of your knowledge to complement the outsourced offering and enhance the current administration package that we offer to our clients while rounding out the existing team.

We are happy to consider full-time and part-time opportunities in this role.

Duties and expectations will include:
  • Accurately and efficiently compiling data gathering on a range of finance plan and policy types (such as pensions and investments). A very high attention to detail is crucial in this role.
  • Strong computer, numeracy and written skills. Be able to excel at Excel and know the word on Word.
  • Compilation of a range of documentation and preparing and checking files.
  • Preparing annual reviews for a number of clients.
  • Conducting technical research where necessary, using a variety of platforms and online technology.
  • Confidently dealing with providers and advisers, via a range of communication methods. Showing a high level of customer service.
  • Working in a busy environment, to deadlines and completing the appropriate number of tasks in set timeframes to meet targets.
  • Thoroughly and consistently updating our specialised project management system, Dextera.
  • Being a strong team member, being able to work both as part of the paraplanning and administration team, but also assisting other team members where needed, and supporting a range of firms.

As a crucial role, it is important to be flexible, to bring ideas and creativity and to help us develop this role even further within The Verve Group and in the wider finance community.

About you

We anticipate this role to be suitable for someone looking to take on a challenge and develop their career.

  • Experience working with financial advisers/planners.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong case and time management skills. This role has a strong customer service focus upon Service Level Agreements and you will be expected to meet deadlines within your team.
  • Strong writing skills and competency in maths and formulae.
  • Comfortable working with people and advisers, both internally and externally.
  • Good team player.
About us

The Verve Group offers a range of services to financial planners and ultimately works towards two key aims; to help support good quality financial advice firms to grow and develop, and to attract new people into financial services and help train them up, for the good of the future of finance.

Across all departments, we approach financial services with a fun and positive outlook; our focus is on relentless innovating and never settling for just doing what has always been done. We're passionate that more people can and should benefit from advice, and it's our mission to make that more accessible for them.

We offer a range of benefits to permanent employees to ensure our team feels supported and motivated. We value loyalty and offer enhanced benefits to reward employees who choose to grow their career with us, but as standard these include:

  • 21 days basic holiday allowance (increasing 1 day per year for each year’s service, to a max of 26 days); plus bank holidays; plus Christmas close-down and your birthday off if it falls on a weekday.
  • Personal development budget (for exams, training, anything to help you excel!)
  • Personalised salary structure to reflect your own effort and contribution.
  • Hybrid or fully remote options available, depending on location and experience.
  • Access to lifestyle benefits such as meditation app, high street discount & rewards app and financial wellbeing platform.
  • Death in service cover.
  • Upon completion of a qualifying period, we offer an EMI share scheme, allowing you to benefit both from declared dividends and long term performance returns.
  • At the same time, you will become eligible for our enhanced parental leave benefits.

Verve benefits:

  • Two official annual company parties, plus ad hoc team nights out and monthly enrichment sessions.
  • Being part of a company with a higher purpose and strong values.
  • We've never been a fan of a dress code. Dress appropriately for a workplace environment, but have the flexibility for that to be whatever you feel comfortable in.
  • Extensive health and wellbeing programme and initiatives, including desk massages, team hikes and yoga / fitness sessions.
  • Office snacks and refreshments.
  • Open plan ‘living office’ environment – including rocking (or sometimes dubious) playlists, beer/wine fridge, breakout lounge, breakfast club, ping pong table.
  • Office dogs welcome!

Yearly salary: Salary dependant on experience, between £25,000 - £30,000.
