Job summary

Control Risks Group is seeking a Financial Accountant in Cardiff to lead financial accounting across multiple entities and service lines. You will own month-end close, drive governance and provide timely, accurate reporting while mentoring junior team members.

You will build strong relationships with Finance Business Partners and senior stakeholders, challenging performance and supporting process improvements across the Finance Hub in a multinational environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualification.
• Significant experience in financial accounting or finance operations.
• Strong month-end close and balance sheet reconciliation experience.
• Experience with accruals, prepayments, intercompany accounting and financial controls.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably D365.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end close activities for assigned entities and service lines, delegating tasks to juniors.
• Prepare and review complex journals including accruals, prepayments, intercompany transactions, reallocations and reclassifications.
• Ensure compliance with Group accounting policies and reporting requirements.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items.
• Review revenue recognition, deferred income, WIP, accruals and project accounting transactions.
• Support statutory audits and provide audit evidence.
• Investigate accounting issues and recommend appropriate treatments.
• Deliver high-quality financial information within deadlines.
• Provide financial analysis to Finance Managers and stakeholders.
• Lead on service line P&L reviews and commentary on movements and risks.
