Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to provide senior technical accounting expertise across statutory reporting, audit, compliance and internal controls. A key focus will be on driving continuous improvement, improving processes and ensuring the finance function operates with a high level of accuracy, efficiency and control.

Qualifications

• Professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and standards.
• Proficient in financial reporting and analysis.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisation.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end financial reporting processes, ensuring accurate, timely and audit-ready reporting.
• Own balance sheet integrity, reconciliations and resolution of financial reporting issues.
• Lead the preparation of statutory accounts and manage the external audit process through to completion.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, SOX requirements and governance frameworks.
• Identify financial and operational risks, implementing controls and improvements as required.
• Prepare and oversee external and regulatory reporting, including statutory filings.
• Work with shared services, tax, payroll and wider finance teams to ensure a smooth reporting process.
• Drive continuous improvement across accounting, reporting and finance processes.
• Undertake mentoring of the Assistant Financial Accountant and provide technical guidance.
