Job summary

Bayman Atkinson Smythe is recruiting a Senior Financial Accountant for a 6-month FTC in Preston. The role focuses on the preparation and production of statutory financial statements and audit support, working with auditors and the finance team.

Tasks include drafting accounts and disclosures, IFRS guidance, VAT returns, corporation tax support, balance sheet reconciliations, and contributing to process improvements.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant with experience working with auditors.
• Experience producing statutory financial statements and year-end.
• Strong IFRS knowledge and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to liaise with external tax specialists on VAT/CT.
• Proven ability to build internal and external relationships.

Responsibilities

• Prepare statutory financial statements, working papers and audit information.
• Review draft accounts, disclosures and supporting narratives.
• Provide IFRS guidance to the finance team on year-end requirements.
• Support VAT returns and other tax-related work with external advisers.
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and evidence.
• Assist with Corporation Tax queries and Gift Aid calculations.
• Contribute to process improvements and cross-team collaboration.
• Undertake other duties appropriate to the level of the role.
