Co-op is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover parental leave. The role is based in Scunthorpe with hybrid working, Tuesday in-office days, and up to £54,000 pro rata.

You will lead month-end reporting for the Wholesale business, manage accruals and reconciliations, and support external audits while maintaining strong financial controls across the operation.

Qualifications

• Accountancy qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end processes.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Good communication skills and ability to build relationships.
• Experience using Microsoft Excel.

Responsabilités

• Lead month-end financial control processes and documentation.
• Prepare and submit monthly reporting packs for the Co-op Wholesale Group.
• Prepare monthly accruals and reconciliations for supplier income and terms.
• Produce weekly stock reporting and monthly stock/goods-in-transit journals.
• Prepare accruals and reconciliations for sundry margin costs (donations, HMRC excise).
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and control reporting.
• Support financial control testing and audit requests.
• Collaborate with the Financial Control team to provide coverage as needed.
