Job summary

Co-op is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover parental leave. You will lead month-end reporting for Wholesale, manage margins, supplier income, stock, and fixed assets, and uphold strong financial controls across the business.

You'll prepare reporting packs, accruals, and reconciliations, and support external audits. This role emphasizes accuracy, collaboration, and timely, insightful financial reporting within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Accountancy qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience in financial reporting and month-end processes.
• Strong attention to detail and clear communication.
• Proficiency with Excel and Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end financial control processes and documentation.
• Prepare and submit monthly reporting packs for the group.
• Create monthly accruals and reconciliations for supplier income and terms.
• Produce weekly stock reporting and monthly stock journals.
• Prepare accruals for margin costs including donations and HMRC duties.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and control reporting.
• Support annual external audit with samples and documentation.
• Collaborate across the Financial Control team.
