As our Senior Financial Accountant, you will report to the Head of Finance and will be responsible for the delivery of a complete management and financial accounts including assisting in the production of timely, accurate and relevant financial information for management and statutory account purposes.
As a key role within our Finance Team, you would need to have strong business partnering skills in order to be the binding bridge between purchases and sales ledger as well as general finance. You will contribute to provide an effective financial support function; provide reliable and accurate financial information of good quality through budgeting, forecasting and periodic management accounts to all key internal and external stakeholders.
The role will have line manager responsibility of Assistant Management Accountant and Senior AP Controller.
The ideal candidate will have previous retail experience from a direct selling business or have worked in a large, complex and diverse organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Monthly Management accounts including financial accounts reconciliation
- Posting various journals including CO-OP, marketing accruals, import price variance and inventory adjustment.
- Closing month end
- Producing departmental VNP report for each product division, overhead report for non-product divisions and VNP report for the company.
- Preparing VAT returns, EC sales and Intrastat and submit to HMRC
- Maintaining prepayments and accruals schedule
- Assisting in the budget and forecast and posting of budget/forecast to ERP system.
- Various reports for service department including overhead report and Income Statement
- Issuing monthly/quarterly/ad-hoc intercompany invoices to Casio Group companies.
- Intercompany reconciliation with Casio GMBH and Casio Inc; ensure Entry certificate sent by Casio GMBH is correct
- Ongoing simplification of existing financial control processes and systems
- Manage statutory and Corp tax audit with external auditors
- Proactive collaboration with relevant internal and external stakeholders
- Supporting with any ad-hoc projects where required.
Requirements
- Be a Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA or CIMA)
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office with exceptional Microsoft Excel skills that include Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF(S), INDEX MATCH and SUM PRODUCT
- Strong attention to detail and initiative to engage in process improvements.
- Be organised and adaptable to business needs; able to manage your time effectively and work efficiently.
- Analytical and logical problem-solving skills
- A pro-active self-starter - happy to use own initiative and take ownership of the role.
- Always willing to help the team deliver on objectives as well as your own.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills; confidently able to liaise with colleagues and third parties.
- Experience of working in a retail or consumer sector management accounts function.
- Experience of working with and influencing senior budget holders.
- Possess a willingness to learn and develop.
- Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships across all levels and translate complex finance information into clear, actionable innsight for non-finance stakeholders.
- Experience in managing, motivating and developing a team.
