Job summary

A leading construction SME in Leicester seeks an experienced Accountant for a full-time permanent role. The successful candidate will manage the fixed-asset register, oversee financial reporting, and prepare statutory accounts. Qualifications

• Qualified or Part-Qualified ACCA, CIMA, AAT or Qualified By Experience.
• Demonstrable experience in accounts preparation with knowledge of VAT rules.
• Advanced knowledge of Sage 50 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain fixed-asset register, monthly depreciation, and align with P&L.
• Post journal for payroll nominal report and assist in month-end reporting.
• Prepare cashflow statements and control expenditure.

Our Client, an SME business in the construction sector in Leicester – is seeking to recruit an experienced Accountant on a full-time permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Maintaining fixed-asset register including additions & disposals, preparation & posting of monthly depreciation & agreeing to P&L / balance sheet,
• Agree monthly payroll nominal report & post journal,
• Month-end reporting, assisting the Management team in preparation of statutory accounts & audit packs for a range of businesses.
• Assisting with monthly P&L reviews, budgets & forecasts,
• Assisting with preparing detailed monthly P&L & balance sheet reports,
• Preparation of cashflow statements & controlling expenditure / cash flow for various companies
• Management of credit limits.

The Right Person

• Qualified or Part-Qualified ACCA, CIMA, AAT or Qualified By Experience,
• Possess demonstrable experience in accounts preparation together with knowledge of VAT rules,
• Advanced knowledge of Sage 50 would be an advantage,
• Knowledge of Payroll & CIS would be advantageous,
• Effective communication skills, confident in presenting financial information to senior management,
• Numerate, analytical with attention to detail,
• Excellent planning, organisation and the ability to achieve deadlines.
