Job description

Our client is currently looking for a senior accountant to join their Chartered Accountancy firm in Wolverhampton City Centre.

They are seeking a candidate with practice experience who is a minimum of AAT qualified, capable of preparing statutory accounts and personal tax returns, and experienced in dealing with clients both over the phone and face-to-face.

The successful candidate will act as a senior accountant, overseeing a team of personal accountants managing a portfolio of clients. A strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles is essential, and candidates with both accountancy and management experience will be given preference.

You will be responsible for:

1. Managing a small team of personal accountants
2. Ensuring clients receive a proactive service
3. Dealing with escalated client queries as they arise
4. Preparation and submission of statutory accounts
5. Preparation and completion of personal tax returns

The ideal candidate will be well-presented, possess excellent communication and customer service skills, and demonstrate good time management and organizational skills.

Essential requirements:

• ACCA/ACA part or full qualified
• Minimum of 4 years practice experience
• Excellent customer service skills
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Desirable requirements:

• ACA / ACCA Qualified
• Experience and working knowledge of IR35
• Experience using Freeagent software
• Experience in freelance/contractor accounting
