Senior Financial Accountant | £55,000-£58,000 + bonus + benefits | London (2 days in the office) | Global Retail brand | Permanent role

A Senior Financial Accountant is required to work for iconic global Retail brand based in Central London (2 days per week in the office) on a permanent basis. Working for this multi-million turnover, internationally recognised business, the role will be sitting in the UK Headquarters where you will be working closely with senior stakeholders.

The role reports to the Group Finance Manager and will take full ownership for managing the accounting for some of their UK and Irish entities. As the business looks to invest and grow, you will be proactively looking to improve existing systems and processes.

Duties will include:

• Taking ownership for reviewing the statutory accounts for 3 legal entities in the UK & Ireland (under UK and Dutch GAAP)
• Owning the P&L and balance sheet review for the entities
• Driving process improvement and looking at ways to improve financial controls across the group
• Analysis of performance & costs of your entities and involvement in the budgeting and forecasting cycles
• Partnering closely with non-finance stakeholders across the business, acting as their main point of contact within finance
• Liaising with the shared service centre to review month-end results
• Working as a key point of contact for the auditors

Skill set required

• First time move from practice or proven industry experience
• Experience preparing statutory accounts (either within practice or industry)
• P&L and balance sheet review experience
• Knowledge of SAP strongly preferred
• GAAP knowledge
• Proven experience of driving process improvement
• Experience of the retail sector preferred but not essential
• Strong communication skills with the ability to challenge senior stakeholders
• Proactive & hardworking in nature with the ability to influence across the business
