Job summary

Warwick Mathematics Institute is seeking a proactive Senior Finance and Resources Assistant to join the Maths Finance Team. The role covers purchasing, expenses, contracts, reporting and financial compliance, reporting to the Finance Manager, and oversight of the Finance and Resources Assistant.

Based in the Warwick Mathematics Institute, you will support day-to-day finance activities, assist with staff queries, and ensure transactions align with University policies.

Qualifications

• AAT, Part 1 CIMA or equivalent financial qualification.
• Substantial experience using finance systems such as SAP, OPeRA, Concur or similar.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Advanced Excel and IT skills.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Supporting purchasing, expenses, billing, non-staff payroll and contract processes.
• Promoting compliance with financial regulations and procedures.
• Assisting with quarterly and annual financial reporting.
• Supporting the financial administration of studentships, internships and non-research projects.
• Maintaining effective financial controls and processes.
• Supporting the monitoring of research projects in the department.
• Building positive relationships with academic, professional services and external stakeholders.
