The ideal candidate will focus on the monthly accounting and reporting cycle, cost control, and forecasting. They should have great initiative and the ability to consider the big picture. Strong prioritization skills and qualities of a supportive manager with a growth mindset are essential.

The role will lead a team of 6 and report to the Head of Finance. The candidate should have excellent communication skills and be a dynamic leader capable of problem-solving autonomously and collaboratively.

Core responsibilities include managing day-to-day financial operations, assessing the impact of commercial changes from an accounting perspective, and identifying opportunities for process automation. The role also involves acting as the primary finance contact for senior leadership, staying informed on e-commerce landscape changes, and delivering excellent service to customers.

Typical daily tasks include leading month-end close, troubleshooting, working with data specialists to automate processes, and collaborating with tax teams on transfer pricing. The environment offers continuous challenges and opportunities for skill development.

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract, ideally starting in January.

Responsibilities

• Management development and mentoring of a team of 6, overseeing their output
• Ownership of the monthly accounting and reporting cycle, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Presenting key results to senior leadership, including the CFO and executives
• Business partnering with the executive team to support financial objectives
• Supporting FP&A and guiding the team through budgeting and reforecasting
• Supporting group reporting and liaising with auditors
• Collaborating with finance teams on developments affecting responsibilities
• Championing process improvements with the finance transformation team
• Leading various ad hoc projects

Qualifications: Qualified senior accountant with at least 4 years PQE, strong team management skills, experience in financial management, internal control, and management reporting. Proven track record in process development and operational change. Excellent communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume, multicurrency environment, and an inquisitive, analytical mindset.

Nice to have: Ecommerce or big data experience, experience working across multiple sites or countries, and business partnering outside finance.
