Trial Balance in Paignton is seeking a Senior Finance Manager to own the finance function and provide strategic leadership. Reporting to the CEO, you will manage monthly accounts, cash flow, budgeting and reporting while guiding improvements with the CFO advisory support.

Senior Finance Manager - Paignton – £55,000 – £60,000 – Full time – Permanent

I'm working with a well-established and growing business based in Paignton that is looking for an experienced Senior Finance Manager to take ownership of the finance function and play a central role in the ongoing success and development of the organisation.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this is a broad and commercially focused role that sits at the heart of the business, encompassing:

• Preparation of monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasting and management, and budgeting and forecasting across the business.
• Producing accurate financial reports to specific deadlines and managing and streamlining financial systems that support both finance and operational functions.
• Overseeing the purchase order system and managing one direct report responsible for bookkeeping, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Ensuring all financial practices are in line with statutory legislation and regulations including VAT, assisting with payroll and supporting the annual external audit process.
• Working closely with the CEO and operational colleagues to identify areas for improvement, develop processes and efficiencies and communicate financial performance clearly across the business.
• Interacting with the board and external investors, providing visible and commercially focused financial leadership at the highest level.

The ideal candidate will be fully qualified, ACA, ACCA or CIMA, with a strong analytical approach, excellent communication skills and the ability to operate confidently at both a detailed and strategic level. You'll be naturally collaborative, solutions focused and comfortable working at pace in a dynamic and growing environment.

This is a replacement hire following the departure of the incumbent, and the incoming Senior Finance Manager will be joining a well run and financially sound business with a clear strategic vision. Importantly, you won't be doing it alone, as the role benefits from the support of an experienced CFO on a retained advisory basis, providing a genuine sounding board and senior finance resource as and when needed.
