Job description

An established UK real estate investment and operating business is hiring a Senior Finance Manager to oversee reporting, planning and financial control across its management-company structure. The organisation operates through multiple investment, property and service entities and has finance teams located in London and a regional hub in Northern England.

Role overview

This permanent role combines management-company reporting, FP&A, financial control and senior stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will review reporting produced by the regional finance team, own budgets and cash-flow forecasts, and present clear financial information to directors, founders and Board-level stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:
Management company reporting
  • Review financial reporting packs for the group's management and service companies.
  • Prepare quarterly Board reporting and papers for senior finance committees.
  • Review management, advisory, property and development fee calculations.
  • Oversee management-company audits and review financial statements prepared by the regional finance team.
  • Respond to financial queries from directors, founders, investors and other stakeholders.
Planning and commercial analysis
  • Lead annual budgets and business plans across the management companies.
  • Own financial models covering cash flow, dividends and longer-term business performance.
  • Deliver forecasts, variance analysis and decision-support information to senior stakeholders.
  • Maintain appropriate staff and shared-cost allocations across assets and management entities.
  • Support annual asset budgeting and ad hoc analysis for the senior management team.
Financial control and wider responsibilities
  • Maintain compliance with financial policies, statutory requirements and relevant accounting standards.
  • Review and improve finance processes and internal controls to reduce risk and improve efficiency.
  • Support cash management, bank-account governance and selected lender covenant reporting.
  • Track equity commitments and capital calls in partnership with investment stakeholders.
  • Support accounting-system change projects, investor queries and wider group reporting when required.
  • Line-manage a Finance Manager and provide indirect oversight to an additional member of the regional team.
Candidate profile
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified with at least four years of post-qualified experience.
  • Strong management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow experience.
  • Experience reviewing or preparing financial statements and managing audit requirements.
  • Confident presenting financial information to directors, founders and Board-level audiences.
  • Previous team-management or senior review experience.
  • Exposure to management-company, service-company or holding-company reporting would be advantageous.
  • Property or real estate experience is helpful but not essential.
  • IFRS 16 knowledge would be advantageous.
  • Commercially minded, proactive and comfortable working across London and regional teams.

Permanent role with a salary of £70,000 to £80,000.

Four days each week in the Central London office, typically Monday to Thursday, with Friday working from home.

Monthly travel to the organisation's regional finance hub, normally involving one overnight stay.

Competitive pension, life assurance, healthcare, wellbeing benefits and discretionary bonus.
