Job summary

Proclinical, a global Life Sciences recruitment leader, is seeking a Senior Finance Manager to oversee finance across Europe and APAC. This role reports to the Global Head of Finance and partners with senior stakeholders to drive financial performance in a rapidly expanding business.

You will lead finance teams across multiple entities, manage budgeting and forecasting, and ensure robust governance, controls, and board-ready reporting.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant or finalist with strong leadership experience.
• Experience leading finance teams across multiple legal entities and international operations.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and variance analysis skills.
• Advanced Excel and ability to communicate complex financial information to senior stakeholders.
• Experience with Power BI or similar reporting/visualisation tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop EU and APAC finance teams.
• Oversee monthly management accounts and board reporting.
• Provide insightful analysis to influence business decisions and performance.
• Manage statutory reporting, VAT, tax, payroll, and intercompany balances across jurisdictions.
• Drive standardisation of financial processes and internal controls.
• Lead ad hoc finance projects and strategic initiatives.

Lead Finance Across Multiple International Markets

Reporting directly to the Global Head of Finance, you'll provide financial leadership across multiple international entities while helping drive commercial decision-making, operational excellence, and continued business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead, coach, and develop the EU and APAC finance team
• Create a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Monitor team performance and ensure timely delivery of key financial outputs
• Support succession planning and professional development initiatives
• Oversee the preparation and review of monthly management accounts
• Deliver insightful analysis on financial performance against budget and forecast
• Ensure strong control over balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, payroll, commissions, fixed assets, and intercompany balances
• Produce and review board reporting and management presentations

Commercial Finance & Business Partnering

• Partner with Country Managers and senior leadership teams
• Provide meaningful analysis and recommendations that influence business decisions
• Support forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow planning
• Identify key commercial trends and performance drivers across the business

Compliance & Audit

• Oversee statutory reporting, VAT, tax, payroll, and compliance activities across multiple jurisdictions
• Coordinate annual audits and manage relationships with external advisers and local finance providers
• Ensure all regulatory and filing obligations are completed accurately and on time

Operational Excellence

• Oversee sales ledger, accounts payable, payroll, expenses, bonuses, and commission processes
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance operations
• Standardise financial processes and strengthen internal controls
• Lead ad hoc finance projects and business initiatives

Essential Experience & Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), or a finalist with strong relevant experience
• Previous experience in a Finance Manager or similar leadership role
• Experience supporting multiple legal entities and international operations
• Strong knowledge of management accounting, financial controls, and statutory reporting
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and variance analysis skills
• Advanced Excel capability and strong analytical skills
• Ability to communicate complex financial information to senior stakeholders
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Recruitment, staffing, professional services, or similar industry experience
• Experience supporting European and APAC entities
• Knowledge of Great Plains, Bullhorn, RSM InTime, or similar systems
• Experience using Power BI or other reporting and visualisation tools
• 25 days annual leave, increasing with service
