The Client

A leading main contractor working within the residential, social housing, commercial, education, leisure, public, and healthcare sectors. With 80 years of experience, this forward-thinking contractor specializes in delivering complex new build and refurbishment projects to high standards.

The Role

Due to growth and new projects, they seek a Senior Finance Assistant, reporting directly to the CFO, on a part-time basis (3 days a week), to provide essential support.

Responsibilities

• Client invoicing & credit control
• Set up and maintain supplier/subcontractor accounts
• External dealings with suppliers and subcontractors
• Subcontractor CIS checks, reconciliation & HMRC returns
• Code & enter invoices
• Check statements and match POs & goods received notes
• Manage weekly & monthly payments
• Maintain sales & purchase ledgers
• Support reception and manage the accounts mailbox
• Assist with cashflow forecasts, expense claims, employee timesheets, credit card analysis, bank reconciliations, payroll, and pension submissions
• Assist with month-end processes, accounts to Trial Balance, audit preparation, and ad-hoc admin duties

Qualifications & Experience

• AAT Level 3/4 or 10 years qualified experience as Assistant Accountant/Senior Finance Assistant
• Xero and Excel proficiency (VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, Pivot Tables)
• Ability to prepare accounts to TB
• Construction industry experience preferred
• Experience with Construction Manager & Hubdoc beneficial
