What we are recruiting for:

We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our Finance team and perform various accounting tasks to ensure accurate and timely reporting. Account for and process statements and reports under supervision to accurately reflect the company's financial results and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory standards.

The Ideal candidate will be personable with high attention to detail. Strong communication skills will also enable them to make a significant contribution within the department and our wider business. This role will suit someone who is recently ACCA or equivalent qualified and looking to move from practice to industry.

Roles & responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the financial transactions and/or management reports and statistics reflecting earnings, profits, cash balances and other financial results to ensure compliance with approved accounting standards.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to increase networks and allow for exchange of information.
  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and resolution of reconciling items
  • In the interim, there will be some responsibility for liaising with the offshore account team

Experience & background:

Required:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business or Commerce with a major or sub major in Accounting and/or Finance,
  • a demonstrable intermediate level of role knowledge.
  • Experience in an accountant role, and/or sound commercial acumen and understanding of general and transactional accounting, cost accounting and reporting.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to work through issues with moderate complexity and guide others in the resolution of problems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate across all levels of the organisation.
  • High attention to detail and passionate about delivering quality work.
  • Proven ability to work well with financial accounting systems (efficiently accessing reports, tracing transactions to source, etc).
  • Strong understanding of transaction and data journeys within a large business (ie from processing of invoice through to ledgers and Financial Statements)
  • Proficient in using the Microsoft office suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience in the property or construction sector.
  • Experience with Oracle ERP systems.
