Job summary

Legal & General is seeking a Senior Finance Analyst to join the Finance Reporting & Analytics team in Cardiff. You will deliver high-quality reporting, analytics and data visualisation to support informed decision-making across Finance and the wider business.

You will work with Tableau and Power BI on dashboards, explore AI-enabled tools, and collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into actionable insights, driving efficiency and governance across finance data.

Qualifications

• Experience designing dashboards and reports in Tableau.
• Strong SQL skills with large/complex datasets.
• Experience creating Power BI reports and visuals.
• Analytical, problem-solving and requirements gathering abilities.
• Effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled tools (Copilot, GenAI) and visualisation best practices.

Job Description

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Finance Analyst to join our Finance Reporting & Analytics team. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality reporting, analytics and data visualisation solutions that support informed decision-making across Finance and the wider business.

You’ll work with modern platforms including Tableau and Power BI, while exploring how AI-enabled tools such as Microsoft Copilot can improve reporting, automate processes and generate deeper insights. You’ll join a collaborative team where your technical expertise, curiosity and ideas will be valued.

What you’ll be doing:

• Designing, developing and maintaining Tableau dashboards and strategic reporting solutions
• Enhancing and optimising reporting across Finance and the wider business
• Developing and maintaining Power BI reports and visualisations where required
• Partnering with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective analytical solutions
• Analysing large and complex datasets to produce clear, actionable insights
• Supporting data quality, reporting governance, certification and access-control processes
• Identifying opportunities to automate manual reporting and improve efficiency
• Using AI-enabled tools and emerging technologies to enhance reporting, insight generation and ways of working

Who we’re looking for:

• Strong hands-on experience of developing dashboards and reporting solutions in Tableau
• Good SQL skills and experience working with large or complex datasets
• Experience of creating reports and visualisations using Power BI
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and business-requirements gathering capabilities
• Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Experience of using or exploring AI-enabled tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Power BI Copilot, Tableau Pulse or generative AI solutions
• An understanding of reporting governance, data quality and visualisation best practice
• Experience within financial services, asset management or a Finance function, or with automation tools such as Power Automate, Alteryx or Python
