Job summary

Legalandgeneral is seeking a Data and Analytics Lead for its Retail Controls Office in Cardiff. The role focuses on turning governance, operational, customer and risk data into insightful analytics, dashboards and data products that support management and governance oversight.

You will lead hands-on technical delivery while advising stakeholders and shaping how data is used across the organisation. A strong emphasis on reducing manual work and enhancing reporting efficiency is expected.

Qualifications

• Advanced experience using Power BI or Tableau for dashboards and insights.
• Strong SQL capability for building and maintaining complex datasets.
• Experience using Python, Power Automate or similar to improve reporting processes.
• Experience designing data models, reporting frameworks and dashboard solutions.
• Ability to translate business requirements into practical analytical products.
• Experience with governance, risk, regulatory or operational data in a regulated environment.
• Strong stakeholder-management and consulting skills.

Job Description

Good decisions depend on clear, trusted information. We are looking for a Data and Analytics Lead to develop and evolve the reporting, analytics and insight capability within our Retail Controls Office.

You will act as a technical specialist and trusted partner, turning complex governance, operational, customer and risk data into useful insight. You will help simplify reporting, automate manual activity and create scalable dashboards and data products that support business management, governance oversight and better customer outcomes.

This is an individual-contributor role with broad influence. It would suit someone who enjoys combining hands‑on technical delivery with stakeholder consulting and has the confidence to shape how an organisation uses its data.

What you’ll be doing:

• Experience designing data models, reporting frameworks and dashboard solutions
• The ability to translate business requirements into practical analytical products
• Experience working with governance, risk, regulatory or operational data in a regulated environment
• Strong stakeholder‑management and consulting skills
• The ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non‑technical audiences
