Senior Finance Analyst
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a broad finance background, capable of building relationships with cross-functional teams, contributing to the finance team, and consistently producing exceptional results.
This role is suitable for someone with a strong technical accounting background, good analytical skills, and the ability to drive projects to completion. Key qualities include problem-solving skills, intellect, and a positive, proactive attitude.
The jobholder will be part of the UK&I Nordics & Baltics Controller’s group within Mastercard Europe’s Finance division. The main responsibilities include Rebates & Incentives, Pricing & Billing Operations for the UKINB division within Europe. The position reports to the Director Controlling UK&I Nordics & Baltics and is based in London.
The role involves ensuring the accurate and timely accounting treatment of all customer business agreements related to revenue recognition and contra-revenue (rebates and incentives), in partnership with the GBSC (Shared Services center in India), ensuring compliance with Mastercard policies, internal controls, and US GAAP.
The role supports the business in generating customer agreements and provides advisory support to account teams. It is a key contributor to financial and commercial processes, working closely with departments such as FP&A, Legal, GBSC, and account managers.
Responsibilities include reviewing R&I reporting monthly, providing commentary to stakeholders, supporting the delivery of performance metrics, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and SOX regulations.
Additional duties involve overseeing the accounting process for rebates and incentives, providing complex accounting guidance, reviewing contract verbiage, performing oversight controls, and participating in cross-functional projects related to billing automation.
Accounting tasks include reviewing accounting summaries, incentive reconciliation, preparing quarterly reviews, ensuring SOX compliance, providing training, and overseeing fund usage in the UK&I and N&B regions.
