Job summary

Legal & General is seeking a Senior Finance & Data Analyst to join the Group Head Office Finance team. You’ll partner with senior stakeholders to deliver robust financial reporting, insightful analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The role blends financial expertise with data skills, strengthening reporting processes, improving decision-making, and driving efficiency across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified or qualified accountant with commercial experience
• Strong financial analysis, planning and reporting experience in finance/analytical roles
• Advanced Excel skills with clear visuals and reporting
• Experience using Power BI and developing reporting models/dashboards
• Continuous improvement mindset with track record of efficiencies
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail
• Confident communication and ability to present insights to senior stakeholders
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting processes and implement efficient solutions
• Support monthly, quarterly and annual forecasting and planning activities across assigned business areas
• Lead month-end reporting activities ensuring accurate and complete financial information
• Produce insightful financial analysis and management information to support decision-making
• Build and enhance reporting tools, dashboards and Power BI models for transparency and efficiency
• Partner with cost centre owners and stakeholders to support budgeting, forecasting and planning
• Monitor financial controls and accounting standards across reporting activities
• Support business transformation initiatives with financial insight and analytical expertise

We're looking for a Senior Finance & Data Analyst to join our Group Head Office Finance team, partnering with senior stakeholders across the business to deliver robust financial reporting, insightful analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

This is an exciting opportunity to combine financial expertise with data and technology skills, helping to strengthen reporting processes, improve decision-making and drive greater efficiency across the organisation. Working closely with Finance Business Partners, Group Finance and business leaders, you'll play a key role in understanding costs, identifying trends and delivering high-quality analysis that supports strategic outcomes.

What you’ll be doing:

• Identifying opportunities to improve financial reporting processes and implementing efficient, sustainable solutions
• Supporting monthly, quarterly and annual forecasting and planning activities across assigned business areas
• Leading month-end reporting activities and ensuring financial information is accurate and complete
• Producing insightful financial analysis and management information to support informed decision-making
• Building and enhancing reporting tools, dashboards and Power BI models to improve transparency and efficiency
• Partnering with cost centre owners and stakeholders to support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
• Monitoring financial controls, accounting standards and compliance requirements across reporting activities
• Supporting business transformation initiatives by providing financial insight, challenge and analytical expertise

Who we’re looking for:

• Part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA preferred) with relevant commercial experience
• Strong financial analysis, planning and reporting experience within a finance or analytical environment
• Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to present complex analysis through clear visuals and reporting
• Experience using Power BI and developing reporting models, dashboards or other business intelligence solutions
• A continuous improvement mindset with a track record of enhancing processes and delivering efficiencies
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail
• Confident communication skills and experience presenting insights to senior stakeholders
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to deadlines
