Job summary

Belmont Recruitment is recruiting for a Targeted Early Help Support Practitioner to assist children, young people and families in the community. You will identify needs, deliver targeted interventions and coordinate support to promote family wellbeing.

The role is a temporary contract for 3-6 months with a view to extension, managing a caseload of up to 17 families, carrying out Early Help Assessments and working with multi-agency teams to safeguard and support vulnerable families.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 4 or equivalent qualification or extensive relevant experience.
• Substantial experience working with children and families in community or family support settings.
• Experience of multi-agency working and delivering targeted interventions.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk assessment and thresholds for Social Care involvement.

Job description

This role involves working with families to identify their needs, provide targeted interventions and ensure they receive the right support to improve outcomes and promote family wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of up to 17 families, completing Early Help Assessments and chairing or attending Family Network Meetings.
• Deliver tailored family support interventions to children and young people aged 0–25 and their parents or carers.
• Conduct home visits and outreach work to engage vulnerable and hard-to-reach families.
• Provide advice and guidance to promote positive parenting skills and family wellbeing.
• Identify safeguarding concerns, assess risks and make referrals to specialist or statutory services where required.
• Work collaboratively with Social Care and other multi-agency professionals to ensure families receive appropriate support.

Requirements

• NVQ Level 4 or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline, or extensive relevant experience.
• Substantial experience working with children and families within a community or family support setting.
• Experience of multi-agency working and delivering targeted interventions.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk assessment and thresholds for Social Care involvement.
