Job summary

Ad Talent is seeking a Senior Factory Manager in Norwich to lead day-to-day operations, drive improvements and build a culture of quality and safety. You will manage factory managers and supervisors, coordinate across departments and translate plans into measurable results.

The role requires a track record of delivering production targets in a busy manufacturing environment, hands-on leadership, and experience with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.

  • Practical experience of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
  • Strong people leadership with coaching and performance management.
  • Experience managing budgets, costs and operational priorities.
  • Solid understanding of health and safety, quality and compliance.
  • Proficiency in analysing performance with Excel and business systems.
  • Clear communication across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day to day factory operations to meet customer requirements, quality standards and delivery targets.
  • Plan capacity, staffing and resources to keep production running efficiently.
  • Lead factory projects from planning through implementation with progress tracked.
  • Identify and deliver improvements in productivity, waste, cost and workflow.
  • Use performance data to spot issues, take corrective action and measure impact.
  • Coach and develop production managers and supervisors, setting expectations.
  • Work with engineering to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Collaborate with quality, procurement and health and safety teams to uphold standards.
  • Manage factory budgets and contribute to cost control and investment planning.
  • Champion safe working practices and compliance with procedures.

Senior Factory Manager

Location: Norwich
Salary: £65,000 to £75,000 per annum, depending on experience

Hours: Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent

An established manufacturer is looking for a Senior Factory Manager to lead its production operation, deliver improvement projects and build a culture of quality, safety and accountability.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can keep daily production running effectively while making lasting improvements to how the factory works. You will lead managers and supervisors, bring teams together across departments and turn plans into measurable results.

The role
  • Lead day to day factory operations, ensuring production meets customer requirements, quality standards and delivery targets.
  • Plan capacity, staffing and resources to keep production running efficiently.
  • Lead factory projects from planning through to implementation, keeping teams informed and results on track.
  • Identify and deliver improvements in productivity, waste, cost and workflow.
  • Use performance data to spot issues, take corrective action and measure the impact of changes.
  • Coach and develop production managers and supervisors, setting clear expectations and supporting strong team performance.
  • Work closely with engineering to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Partner with quality, procurement and health and safety teams to maintain standards and resolve operational challenges.

  • Champion safe working practices and consistent compliance with company procedures.

What is on offer
  • £65,000 to £75,000 per annum, depending on experience.
  • Monday to Friday working, with no weekends.
  • 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays, with the option to purchase two additional days each year.
