Job summary

Oxford Ionics in Oxford is seeking a Senior Facilities Technician to support the safe, compliant operation of critical facilities infrastructure across laboratory, cleanroom, and technical manufacturing environments.

This hands-on, front-line role requires ownership of day‑to‑day facilities operations, compliance tasks, and system reliability, working closely with the Head of Facilities to prevent single points of failure and ensure uptime and safety.

Qualifications

• Requires NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds / HNC or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services.
• Strong working knowledge of MEP systems and building services.
• Experience using CMMS systems and familiarity with UK compliance frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive and reactive maintenance across HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Own daily compliance tasks including fire alarm and life safety testing and Legionella checks.
• Manage contractor activities with RAMS review and Permit-to-Work controls.
• Support laboratory, ISO cleanroom, and manufacturing environments to maintain controlled conditions.
• Raise, track, and close work orders in CMMS and maintain asset records.
