Job summary

Catering in Leicester LE9 is seeking a Senior Fabricator welder to join our manufacturing team. The role involves MIG welding and advanced fabrication, setting up complex welding equipment, and interpreting engineering drawings.

You will mentor junior welders and work from engineering blueprints to produce high‑quality parts. The ideal candidate has over 5 years of industry experience welding mid to heavy gauge mild steel, can weld up to 60mm, and can work independently to a high standard.

Qualifications

• More than 5 years industry experience welding mid to heavy gauge mild steel.
• MIG weld up to 60mm.
• Able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
• Mentor and guide junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced metal fabrication and welding tasks as a senior welder/fabricator.
• Set up and operate complex welding equipment.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Mentor and support junior welders to ensure quality results.

To report to the Fabrication Manager
To MIG weld steel up to 60mm
To read all engineering drawings
To read and interpret complex engineering drawings

Ability to weld to a High Standard

Fitting experience
Have more than 5 years industry experience welding mid to heavy gauge mild steel
Fully skilled fabricator
Experiencing and guiding junior welders You should be able to work on your own initiative.
