Job summary

Company of Cooks, part of Compass, is recruiting a Senior Events & Operations Manager to join our team at Royal College of Physicians. You will support the General Manager in running a busy conference, events, hospitality and banqueting venue and lead front-of-house and event staffing to deliver outstanding guest experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Support the General Manager with the day-to-day running of a busy conference, events, hospitality and banqueting venue, deputising in their absence.
  • Lead, motivate and develop front-of-house, events, porter and casual staffing teams, promoting a high-performing and customer-focused culture.
  • Oversee the delivery of conferences, meetings, hospitality and banqueting events, managing events of up to 600 delegates and hospitality functions of up to 200 guests.
  • Ensure all client requirements are delivered to the highest standard, building strong relationships and providing exceptional customer experiences.
  • Manage venue presentation, event set-up, cleanliness and operational standards across all public areas and event spaces.
  • Support recruitment, training, rotas, performance management and workforce planning to ensure operational excellence.
  • Control labour costs, operational expenditure and venue resources while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing service delivery, operational processes and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with all health & safety, food safety, licensing, HACCP and company policies, maintaining a safe and compliant working environment.
