Job summary

Fairhurst is seeking a Principal Events Consultant / Technical Manager to lead technical delivery for event projects in the UK and overseas. You will oversee all event operations, bid work, resource planning, delivery, and post-event reviews, ensuring design quality and compliance with industry standards.

You will guide multidisciplinary teams, manage clients and stakeholders, and develop junior engineers within the team while contributing to Fairhurst’s reputation for excellence in events

Qualifications

• Chartered status or equivalent in relevant discipline.
• Significant experience in events operations or H&S consultancy, including temporary works.
• Experience delivering temporary sports events (or equivalent).
• Excellent communication, presentation and organisational skills.
• Strong knowledge of UK design standards and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Design & technical delivery: proposals, budgets, and invoicing.
• Lead, coordinate, and review consultancy outputs for accuracy and compliance.
• Provide leadership across disciplines, including events operations and H&S engineering.
• Ensure outputs meet regulatory requirements and Fairhurst quality standards.
• Engage with clients, stakeholders and manage project documentation.
• Support business development and key client management.
