Job description

Competitive salary, depending on experience

Based: Manchester or Leeds

Office based, with travel to events and customer meetings

Great events need precision planning, creative style and new audiences. Could you support in driving our events forward as our Senior Event & Marketing Manager.

From awards ceremonies and conferences to business breakfasts, events bring people together, build relationships and create opportunities. At Iconic Live, part of Iconic Media, we’re looking for a commercially minded Senior Event & Marketing Manager to shape successful events, develop a motivated team and deliver outstanding experiences for clients, sponsors and guests.

If you combine hands‑on events expertise with skills in marketing and brand positioning, and a sharp eye for commercial opportunities, then this is your chance to take ownership of a varied events portfolio and help drive its future success.

Your role

Reporting to the Group Events Director you’ll lead the end-to-end planning on assigned key events projects. Simultaneous to that you will also be responsible for devising the marketing and social media strategy across all events to support all event managers in driving engagement in their own events projects.

You’ll manage a small team of marketing professionals, keeping people motivated, setting priorities and maintaining high standards. Alongside overseeing their work, you’ll take a hands‑on role in key events and client relationships, ensuring commitments are met and issues are addressed promptly.

Understanding the fast-moving nature of events and ability to multitask is essential as you will be working on multiple projects across a variety of sectors all of which will need to be delivered to an exceptional standard.

What you’ll bring

You’ll have a strong track record of delivering and marketing commercially successful B2B events, ideally including awards ceremonies and conferences. Experience within publishing, media or an events business would be useful, together with evidence of managing and developing a small team.

You’ll understand how event strategy, marketing, sponsorship, ticket sales and cost control work together to deliver a successful outcome. You’ll be confident in managing budgets, interpreting performance data and making sound commercial decisions.

An effective organiser and communicator, you’ll be comfortable balancing several events at different stages, managing competing priorities and maintaining strong relationships with clients and colleagues.

Above all, you’ll bring an adaptable, practical approach. You’ll recognise when plans need to change, make clear decisions and help your team respond positively, maintaining high standards under pressure.

Your location and working arrangements

You must be able to commute daily to either our Manchester or Leeds office. Office attendance is required on all working days when you are not attending events or meeting customers in the field. This is an office-based position, with no routine homeworking arrangement.

You must also be willing to travel to deliver events and attend customer meetings, with flexibility around working hours to meet event schedules.
