ROLE OVERVIEW:
54 is seeking an experienced and highly motivated
Senior Event Manager to lead the planning and delivery of international racket sports events that set new standards and leave a lasting impression.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring world-class operational delivery, guest experience and stakeholder management across a portfolio of high-profile events.
The role is fixed term until the end of 2025, with an opportunity to turn permanent dependant on the success of the events.
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of international racket sports events—bringing energy, structure, and foresight to every stage.
- Collaborate with rights holders, venues, suppliers, and internal teams to deliver smooth, integrated event timelines.
- Develop and manage robust event timelines, budgets, and delivery frameworks.
- Oversee all key areas of event delivery including; venue planning, overlay, logistics, accreditation, spectator and athlete services, VIP hospitality programme.
- Manage supplier procurement, contracting, and performance.
- Ensure compliance with all health & safety, safeguarding, and sustainability protocols.
- Lead on-site operations, solve problems proactively, and act as a senior point of contact throughout the event lifecycle.
- Conduct thorough debriefs and reporting to drive continuous improvement.
SPECIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/APTITUDES NEEDED:
- Proven experience delivering racket sports events (tennis, padel, pickleball, badminton, squash, or table tennis) at national or international level.
- Strong project management skills and experience working to tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- A strong knowledge of live event operations, hospitality and venue planning.
- Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams and contractors.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach with a strong attention to detail.
- Experience working within an international sports event agency, major sports rights holder or sport governing body.
- A mindset that embraces innovation with confidence in challenging traditional models and assumptions, finding new ways to engage audiences and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with event management and project planning software and tools.
- International event experience is desirable
- Willingness to travel and work irregular hours, including weekends and evenings during event periods.
