Job summary

Neev in Banbury is seeking an experienced mechanical design engineer for EV battery pack development. You will design enclosures, cooling systems, and mounting hardware, create CAD models and drawings, and manage BOMs throughout development and launch.

You will apply GD&T, support DFMEA/DVP&R, and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to optimize packaging and ensure safety and quality across the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
• Minimum 5+ years in automotive design engineering, EV battery pack preferred.
• Strong CAD experience with CATIA V5/V6.
• Solid understanding of GD&T and DFMEA/DVP&R processes.
• Experience with BOM management and engineering releases.
• Knowledge of battery pack structures and thermal management.
• Ability to interpret CAE/test results and drive design changes.

Responsibilities

• Design battery pack components including enclosures, structural parts, cooling, busbars, brackets, and mounting systems.
• Create 3D CAD models, assemblies, 2D drawings, and BOMs.
• Support packaging studies for vehicle integration, serviceability, manufacturability, and safety.
• Define interfaces and packaging constraints.
• Develop detailed designs from concept to production release.
• Apply GD&T in component design and support DFMEA/DVP&R.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams for development and issue resolution.
• Ensure compliance with DFM/DFA and automotive quality standards.
• Work with CAE to support simulations and validate design changes.
• Assist DV/PV testing, environmental tests, and root cause analysis.
