Job summary

Trueline Expanded Products is hiring a Senior Estimator (Sheet Metal Fabrication) to lead the estimating function and drive profitable quotes in a busy manufacturing environment.

You will review drawings, cost drivers and supplier prices to deliver accurate quotations. The role covers team leadership, cost control, and close collaboration with procurement and customers, with a salary of £40,000–£45,000 plus a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Review technical drawings, bills of quantities, specifications and customer requirements to produce accurate cost estimates.
• Use our internal estimating software to prepare detailed and competitive quotations.
• Assess material, manufacturing and operational costs to ensure estimates are commercially sound.
• Identify factors that could affect project costs, lead times and profitability.
• Deal with holiday requests and disciplinaries when they arise.
• Investigate and solve NCRs to find root causes and highlight manufacturing limitations before they reach the shopfloor.
• Work closely with procurement to obtain pricing and liaise with suppliers for costs.
• Identify potential operational and commercial risks before quotations are submitted; support profit margins and sales targets.
