Job summary

Gleeds seeks a Senior Estimator to join the Midlands-based infrastructure team, delivering robust cost estimates and assurance across major projects. You will collaborate with client teams to clarify scope, challenge inputs and defend the basis of estimate on large programmes.

Ideally you will have estimating experience in complex environments, professional body membership desirable, and the ability to obtain security clearances for site access across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Experience in estimating within complex infrastructure, nuclear, defence, or regulated environments.
• Strong first-principles estimating and cost assurance capabilities with transparent bases of estimate.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and collaborative approach with multidisciplinary teams.
• Qualified to at least HNC/HND or degree level in cost management or related discipline; professional body membership desirable.
• Must be able to satisfy client onboarding, identity, security and site-access requirements and obtain necessary clearances.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, develop and maintain detailed cost estimates for a large infrastructure programme.
• Support estimate reviews and cost assurance activities, testing scope, quantities, rates, allowances, risk, and schedule alignment.
• Work with client project managers, engineers, planners, risk, commercial and finance teams to clarify scope and basis of estimate.
• Develop estimate plans, support estimating solutions and lead defined estimating activities.
• Apply recognised estimating techniques and understand link between scope, schedule, risk, cost and maturity of estimate.
• Contribute to development of estimating processes, guidance, templates, benchmarking and cost intelligence; coach others.
