Gleeds Energy is expanding its Estimating team to support a large Midlands infrastructure programme. The Executive Estimator will lead estimating and cost assurance across multiple projects, setting standards and guiding the team.

The role requires substantial experience in complex infrastructure cost management, strong leadership, and the ability to communicate cost matters to senior stakeholders. Flexible working with core hours is available.

Formación

• Substantial estimating or cost-management experience on complex engineering or infrastructure programmes.
• Experience leading an estimating team or function.
• Advanced first-principles estimating and cost assurance capability.
• Ability to challenge inputs and communicate cost matters to senior decision-makers.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder-management and communication skills.
• Degree or equivalent in cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered status or professional membership desirable; onboarding and security clearances may be required.

Responsabilidades

• Lead estimating function for a large infrastructure programme, establishing strategy, priorities, delivery plan and resource requirements.
• Coordinate and assure the preparation of estimates across the portfolio, ensuring appropriate approach for each project’s scope and maturity.
• Own estimating governance, standards, templates and approval routes with clear bases, assumptions, exclusions and risk allowances.
• Provide independent challenge and cost assurance of project estimates and supplier submissions to senior stakeholders.
• Work with client project managers, engineering, planning, risk, commercial and finance to align scope, schedule, risk and cost information.
• Lead estimate reviews, assurance panels and governance submissions, communicating uncertainty and key cost drivers.
• Manage estimating demand and workload; coach team members and support professional development.
• Develop benchmarking, cost intelligence and estimating capability using historic data and market evidence.
• Support programme controls, investment decisions and commercial strategies with timely estimating advice.
• Maintain client relationships on the Derby site and ensure information-management and security requirements are met.
