Job summary

PSR Solutions is recruiting a Senior Estimator for our client in Derbyshire to lead and shape cost plans, budgets and tender submissions across major construction projects. You will work closely with clients, consultants and the supply chain to develop winning strategies and ensure commercial viability.

Qualifications

• Qualified in construction (HNC/HND or degree) or equivalent.
• Proven experience as Senior Estimator with Tier 1 or large Tier 2 contractor.
• Strong knowledge of tendering methods and project pricing across sectors.
• Excellent commercial awareness and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation of cost plans, budgets, estimates and tender submissions.
• Analyse drawings, specs and tender docs to identify requirements and risks.
• Develop bid strategies to maximise competitiveness while protecting margins.
• Manage tender process from enquiry to final submission and client negotiations.
• Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations for best value.
• Build relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners.
• Identify value engineering opportunities to improve profitability.
• Collaborate with design, planning, commercial and operations teams in pre-construction.
• Mentor junior estimators and support the estimating team.
• Participate in tender adjudication meetings and present recommendations.
• Support handovers to operations after contract award.
• Keep up-to-date with market trends, labour/material costs.
