Job summary

Building Careers UK Ltd is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead the national estimating function across water, utilities, infrastructure and civil projects, delivering accurate, competitive estimates.

You will oversee tenders and frameworks, set standards, influence pricing strategy, and drive continuous improvement while collaborating with procurement, commercial and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Significant estimating experience within water, utilities, infrastructure, construction or civil engineering.
• Proven track record of leading teams and delivering complex tenders.
• Experience with regulated water sector, AMP programmes, Term Service Contracts, NEC contracts and framework delivery is highly advantageous.

Our client is a leading organisation operating within the UK water and infrastructure sector.

They are now seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to lead their national estimating function and play a key role in supporting continued business growth.

The Role

Reporting into the senior leadership team, the successful candidate will oversee the delivery of accurate, competitive and commercially robust estimates across major frameworks, term service contracts and projects.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading, developing and managing a national estimating team.
• Overseeing major tenders, frameworks and project estimates.
• Setting estimating standards, processes and best practice.
• Providing senior input into pricing strategy, commercial risk and bid governance.
• Working closely with commercial, procurement, operational and business development teams.
• Building strong relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Driving continuous improvement across estimating systems, processes and cost data.
• Supporting successful bid handovers and post-tender reviews.

About You

The ideal candidate will have significant estimating experience within water, utilities, infrastructure, construction or civil engineering, with a proven track record of leading teams and delivering complex tenders.

Experience of the regulated water sector, AMP programmes, Term Service Contracts, NEC contracts and framework delivery would be highly advantageous.

Strong commercial awareness, leadership capability and stakeholder management skills are essential, alongside the ability to influence at senior level.
