The role is an office-based position responsible for carrying out take-offs, bills of quantities, cost plans, and tenders for the employer’s client base, which includes contractors, sub-contractors, developers, and private clients.

Projects will primarily involve residential new builds. With significant growth plans, this Estimator employer can offer excellent career progression opportunities.

Responsibilities and Duties

The Senior Estimator's duties and responsibilities will include:

• Setting up estimating files upon receipt of enquiries, both electronically and on paper, and completing any further filing/addendums as needed.
• Maintaining and updating archives.
• Interfacing with all supply chain members, including suppliers and subcontractors, on all aspects related to tenders from enquiry to contract award.
• Chasing quotations from suppliers, sub-contractors, and manufacturers.
• Completing estimating tasks independently.
• Answering incoming calls, taking messages, or redirecting as appropriate.
• Performing general support and administrative duties as required.
• Providing support to colleagues and the accounts team during peak periods.

Desired Skills and Experience

• At least 5 years of estimating experience in a professional Quantity Surveying (PQS) practice or main contracting firm.
• Experience in take-offs and pricing for residential new builds.
• Familiarity with SMM7, NRM3, and major measurement methods.
• Knowledge of all major forms of contract, especially JCT.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Experience with other estimating and take-off software.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Good understanding of the building industry.

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

• A degree or equivalent in a construction-related field is preferred.
