Job summary

AMB Recruitment Group in London seeks a Senior Estimator for our client in South London. The role is hybrid and permanent, typically 3 days in the office with regular site visits, and offers a salary band of £70,000–£80,000 DOE plus pension, private healthcare and benefits.

You will lead tenders for concrete repair and specialist civils, review documents, perform take-offs, analyse subcontractor quotes and support negotiations to deliver quality bid submissions.

Qualifications

• Proven estimating experience in concrete repair, structural repair or a related specialist construction sector.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and the commercial and contractual side of projects.
• Working knowledge of NEC and JCT.
• Familiarity with measurement methods including CRAMM.
• Strong Excel skills; Microsoft Project is a plus.
• A relevant degree or equivalent is advantageous.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead tenders and quotations for specialist repair and protection works, from small works through to larger schemes.
• Review tender documentation to identify risks and opportunities, and manage tender risk reviews.
• Carry out site visits to measure and assess access, constraints and methodology.
• Prepare take-offs and defect schedules, and build estimates for labour, plant, materials and subcontract costs.
• Issue enquiries, analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations, and prepare tender programmes.
• Review contract terms, flag unacceptable clauses and support negotiations after award.
• Work closely with the contracts and commercial teams, clients, consultants and the supply chain, and contribute to quality bid submissions.

Our client is a well-established specialist contractor working in concrete and structural repair. They deliver technically varied projects on buildings, bridges and infrastructure for a strong, repeat client base.

They’re looking for a Senior Estimator to join their South East estimating team. The role is hybrid, typically 3 days in the office once you’re settled in, with regular site visits.

The role

• Lead tenders and quotations for specialist repair and protection works, from small works through to larger schemes


• Review tender documentation to identify risks and opportunities, and manage tender risk reviews


• Carry out site visits to measure and assess access, constraints and methodology


• Prepare take-offs and defect schedules, and build estimates for labour, plant, materials and subcontract costs
