Job summary

Sizewell C Limited, on the Civil Works Alliance (CWA) project, seeks a Senior Estimator to support the Sizewell C program. Based in the Marine and Tunnels Section, you will feed into Lead Estimator and present estimates to senior leaders and external partners.

You will develop estimates from first principles, mentor junior staff, manage planning and procurement interfaces, and ensure consistency with client estimating approaches using Candy and RIB Cost X.

Qualifications

• Experience in infrastructure main contractor civil engineering projects.
• Professional chartership in ICE/CICES/RICS/CIOB or equivalent.
• Ability to mentor junior estimators and present to senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Feeding into the Lead Estimator and the Head of Estimating on the project to ensure consistency in estimating approach set out by the client.
• Work closely with a Lead Estimator or on own to produce various estimating documentation that can be assured both internally and externally.
• Developing estimates from 1st Principles associated with the work package of the Sizewell C Project.
• Be a senior member of the team developing the price, mentoring and supporting more junior members of the estimating team.
• Stakeholder management to produce the Estimate e.g., planning, procurement etc.
• Presenting, negotiating and justifying prices produced in an open and honest manner to both senior leaders within the business and/or external customers/partners.

Senior Estimator Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell C

As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years.This role will be within the Marine and Tunnels Section.

What will you do?

The purpose of the role is:

• Feeding into the Lead Estimator and the Head of Estimating on the project to ensure consistency in estimating approach set out by the client.

What are we looking for?

• Proficient in the use of excel and similar software.
• Excellent client facing/communications skills
• Experienced estimating background using Candy Estimating Software.
• Experienced estimating background using RIB Cost X Quantification & Estimating Software.
• Experience of working with the AACE principles of Estimating Class and associated maturity
• Mobile and flexible

Qualifications & Experience

• Infrastructure Main Contractor background ideally in the civil engineering market.
• Commercial or operational background considered.
• Chartered by relevant industry recognised chartership e.g., ICE, CICES, RICS, CIOB Etc
