Senior Estimator

Essex

£80,000–£100,000

I’m working with a family-owned main contractor based in Essex, currently turning over around £20m with plans to grow that to £50m.

They’re looking for a Senior Estimator to take control of tenders across the business. Someone who knows how to price properly, understands the detail behind the numbers and can help them grow without losing control of their margins.

You’ll be working across commercial and refurbishment projects, taking ownership of tenders and working closely with the wider team from enquiry through to submission.

It’s a good opportunity to join a business that has already built a solid platform but still has plenty of room to grow. You’ll have a real say in how the estimating function develops as the company pushes towards £50m turnover.

What you’ll be doing:

• Taking control of tenders from enquiry through to submission
• Pricing projects and managing your own workload
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and scope to identify risks and opportunities
• Getting competitive and accurate prices from subcontractors and suppliers
• Working closely with the wider pre-construction and delivery teams
• Supporting the business as it grows from £20m towards £50m turnover
• Helping maintain strong margins and making sure the business takes on the right work

Requirements:

• Strong estimating background with a main contractor
• Proven experience pricing commercial construction or refurbishment projects
• Strong understanding of subcontract packages, costs and margins
• Able to take ownership of tenders from start to finish
• Commercially sharp with strong attention to detail
• Confident dealing with subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams
• Able to work autonomously and manage multiple tenders
