Job summary

Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a senior estates professional to manage the freehold and leasehold portfolio across a multi-site estate. The role requires a surveying or estates degree or equivalent experience, with RICS membership or clear route to it, and a full driving licence.

You will lead renewals, rent reviews and licences, and oversee space planning while deputising for the Director of Capital Development.

Qualifications

• Degree in estate management, valuation, surveying or related discipline or equivalent experience
• Chartered membership of RICS or working towards chartered status with a clear timeline
• Full driving licence
• Strong knowledge of landlord and tenant law (LTA 1954)
• Experience managing large multi-site property portfolios
• Experience leading lease renewals and rent reviews
• Experience negotiating licences, wayleaves and easements
• Experience managing external advisers (solicitors, agents, valuers)
• Experience line-managing staff
• Ability to travel to other sites

Responsibilities

• Manage the freehold and leasehold portfolio, keep an accurate register of leases, licences, wayleaves and easements
• Lead lease renewals and rent reviews, negotiating with tenants, landlords, agents and valuers
• Monitor lease events such as break clauses, rent review dates and expiries, escalating risk
• Negotiate, prepare and manage licences to occupy for Trust premises and third parties
• Manage wayleave agreements and statutory easements with utility companies
• Prepare and issue indemnity and other property legal documents
• Handle landlord and tenant matters including notices, dilapidations and service charge queries
• Provide assurance on statutory and regulatory compliance for property transactions and occupation
• Oversee space planning and utilisation across the estate via Space Planning Project Manager
• Deputise for the Director of Capital Development as required
